Help got a new droid - first time android user - facebook issue

I'm comparing FB settings between my account and my wife's account. I have a "username" set up - she does not. Otherwise, everything is the same. Do you have a username set up - under settings??
 
FB works fine here, but I did have a question... didn't want to start a new FB thread over it.
I chose some kind of syncing option where all of my FB friends were imported to my Contacts. :( Now I have, like, my old 11th grade math teacher in my Contacts/Addy book. I go to delete it and it says you can't delete "read only" contacts but only hide them. Anyone know how to get rid of FB contacts from my phone's address book? TIA!
 
Did not remove the account name - but tried again and now it let me in. Wonder how long until it won't again. I've tried at least 50 times today and always received the error until now. It's working!

Keep trying guys!

Hmmm, that may be a factor, but I am not sure. I am having no problem signing in and I have no username, just the e-mail. I have not checked the updates yet but I will look in a minute.
 
I was just having the same problems logging into Facebook from my Droid, and it just started working. The only thing I messed with right before it started to work is to turn on my mobile settings from the Facebook Account settings page, and to check the box under "My Account->Notifications Tab->Other applications->Facebook for Android." I did have a user name assigned but didn't have Droid access before I performed the two above actions. Might be coincidental.

I had the same problem. I let it sit for a while came back tried again and it worked. Be patient and give it time it will come.
 
works fine for me as well.

i thought i was having trouble logging into the facebook widget, but hours later i noticed it was myspace widget and not facebook :D

i have no trouble logging in but i am having trouble trying to upload pics with the app.

i tried taking a pic through the Take A Photo option within the app but the pics come out really small and in very low quality when uploaded. so i opened up the camera app and took a pic, then selected the pic i want to upload in the facebook app. after it hits 100% i get a message saying it failed to upload. i tried this both on wifi and the 3G. i also tried sharing the file to facebook within the camera app, still no dice.

anyone else have this issue?

EDIT: nevermind, it works under 3G but only after multiple tries. i guess the software is a little buggy?
 
I know this question is a little off topic but i really didn't want to make a new thread just to ask this question. I wanted to know if there was a way to force a contact integration to facebook. For instance I have a contact Stan but on facebook his name is Stanly. Is there a way to force that connection?

I know there is a way on winmo but obviously it would not be the same here.

I'd like to know this too. I do know that if you use gmail, you can merge the contacts into 1, and if you sync your phone's contacts with google, this should update it all.

I have people in my phone with a "nickname", so I have their nick and their real name now!
 
When ever I try to connect to Facebbok from my Droid I keep getting a message that says an error has occured and to try again later. I can connect via the browser no problem, it is when I try to sign in to the Facebook link/app that this happens. This has been happening since last night. Any suggestions?

I just had the same problem. It worked over the weekend but not working now.
 
O.K. I just posted something using the phone and now my content came up. I guess they figure you don't need to look at your own wall unless you are adding to it. (Now I just feel silly!)
 
That is where I am having the problem. I keep getting an error trying to use the FB app.


Edit: I did not have a FB account before getting my Droid so I made one just last night. I wonder if that is part of the problem.

Have you tried this? Go to the menu button>Settings> Accounts & Sync>

There is an Add Account button at the bottom.

I'm guessing that signing in to fb on your computer is not a problem so it's not like an incorrect password or something. My next effort at guessing at a solution would be to remove the facebook account and try readding it.
 
Today's my first day with the Droid and I thought it was just me, i've been trying for 15 mins to sign in. Ensured I could login with my Computer web browser, ensured the password was correct but I get this same exact error? Anyone have a solution? Kinda defeats the purpose of having a device thats supposed to branch out between apps.
