My friend was using the sharp v7 rom and all of a sudden he bottom lights stayed on even with the screen off. I flashed CM7 to the phone hoping it was a rom problem but they still won't turn off. Is it a system setting I can adjust or is the phone bad?

I figured our how to get the back button and home button working when it locks up. I hold the phone near the bottom with my thumbs on the bottom near the corners and with my index fingers I rub the back of the phone behind the touch sensitive buttons a couple times and they start working again.
