Root Hard buttons won't turn off.

My friend was using the sharp v7 rom and all of a sudden he bottom lights stayed on even with the screen off. I flashed CM7 to the phone hoping it was a rom problem but they still won't turn off. Is it a system setting I can adjust or is the phone bad?

Flash the Stock rom that came with the triumph here and see if it still happens, if so then you might wanna call VM and have them send you a replacement, and also make sure to follow instructions when flashing such as factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik cache
