This is probably a stupid question but do I have to lock the phone and unroot to get a new Sim card activated? I got a new device and transferred the Sim from my Nexus to it, my wife wants the Nexus on her line, when I go to Verizon to get a new Sim is it OK that it's unlocked and rooted?

When I try to send a text message saying "send text to so-and-so or send message to so-and-so" the name always ends up placed in the "Text" field rather than the "To" field, suggestions?

It shows that is is pre-installed on the phone but I can't find it anywhere in my app list.
