I don't thinkI'll be doing that since I am moving on to the T-Mobile G2, which is similar in spec to the droid 2, but with clean froyo. The decision was not based upon teh phone but the actual cost of verizon service. T-Mobile has cheaper plans with faster data speeds as of now.
It would be pointless of me to start the petition since I won't have the device anymore. However, If you or someone else can start the petition, I will gladly sign it and promote it in other forums for you.
