I rooted my phone yesterday but just noticed my google contacts wont sync. it says syn is currently experiencing problems.it wil be back shortly. But this is only for contacts everything else syncs fine. Can someone help?

anyway to stop backup assistant from syncing. i noticed when i got out of store either employee or phone automatically chose to use backup assistant. now i have duplicate contacts. very annoying. help
