Hi guys. About 3 Hrs ago, my Whatsapp stopped working. Couldn't see my friends statuses, send messages and now, i uninstalled and re-installed, and it it won't send me the verification SMS :( Anyone else having issues?

Sup, i wanna know how to set a picture for myself in the messenger app, i tried doing it through my profile in contacts, but whenever i set a picture, the icon would just go grey again... Also is there a way to disable the contacts pictures in the messenger? Thanks BTW: This phone is awesome! :)
