Hey, you know stuff.
Using Calibre to convert downloaded books I'm finding that Aldiko sometimes takes a long time to open the book. I get the usual 'opening book' and 'opening chapter', then a blank screen for 'forever' (ok, about a minute) before it actually shows me any text. About the same delay to change from day to night scenes. After I get the book opened I don't see any other 'opening chapter' message like I have on other books that I downloaded from Feedbooks using Aldiko. Clearly the entire book is being loaded and manipulated which is what's slowing down the process. Am I missing a setting in Calibre that basically says 'break this book into smaller chapters'?
Thanks in advance.
Well...we're not exactly typical ourselves. I have 4 stepsons, 3 daughters and one son with my wife, and now one foster son. I honestly have never had -2-, so I wouldn't even know what that'd be like! I don't think Mr Rockwell would have stood up to the sheer chaos that is my day to day life
Wouldn't trade it for the world, though. Step Parenting and Fostering makes for an adventure, but it's well worth it.
Congrats ... you finall shocked me ;-) I was reading through the Movies on Eris thread last night when it popped up to the top again, and saw your Jan post about taking the kids to the movies and I thought "... kids?" Not that I have any problem with kids (got 9 myself ... yes, really) but you have to admit, your avatar doesn't scream "mom"!
I have a question for you. I use my eris alot and a lot of times its for the web browser. Now will clearing the cache on the browser free up more RAM or is the cache being save as ROM? I thought that RAM was memory allocated for running programs whereas ROM was the memory for storing the program and its data. Also I have 60 mgs free RAM right now and the keyboard is lagging on my eris as I am writing this. Any suggestions?
I love your avatar! It's really hot! I have a degree in digital design and wanted to let you know that it's composed brilliantly, in my opinion. Well-done! By the way, is that you?
