Root Need some help quick! Cleared phone to install rom now get error

I cleared all the data before installing the simplicity rom, I now get the error
[HIGH]script aborted: file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory
file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop": No such file or directory


Installer Error (Status 7)

What can i do to resolve this? I was able to put cynogenmods on, but would really like to put simplicityXL back on.

Did you do restore factory defaults or format the /system partition through recovery?

someone should sticky this. you need to add a certain line to your build.prop in cyanogenmod.
ro.product.model=LG-LG870

add that to your build.prop, then try it again.

Question is how am I going to edit that and at that in recovery mode open build.prop? Instructions..and thank you for responding.

Restore a backup you made into cyanogenmod (I'm assuming you made one, yes?)
Once in cyanogenmod, do it there. If not, restore a stock rom backup if you have one, or a previous simplicity backup if you have one. If you don't have a backup at all, then your only choice will be to completely restore your phone back to stock using a computer

No..no and no, I didn't make a back up and have no other backup and as for pc I don't have one.

had a backup, but this phone puts things in weird places and i unadvertantly deleted it

Like creed10 said your best bet without some type of backup is to get to a computer and restore from complete stock.
