Samsung S3 Frontier - Watchband rash

S3 Frontiers factory silicone watchband

My rash has only occurred in the past week after having it a year or so.
It is about the size of a quarter at most and is at the side of my wrist which is inline with my thumb.

I found that there is an imprint (raised) that looks like/says:
L
--------
Gear S3

Because it is raised it is not smooth as the rest of the band is.

Has anyone else received rashes in the same location and what resolution or model band did you replace with?

Since it is silicone I am wondering the best option to try and smooth it over best as can without cause more (or other) damage.

Thanks

well i will occasional get a rash on my gear s3. it is usually because it gets dirty with dirt and sweat. cleaning it usually makes it go away. i also do wear the watch fairly tight so i do get indentation in my skin. i think it gets irritated because of that as well. the rash starts for me where the sliding thing that the watch band goes into to make more streamlined.

I replaced the watch band with a quick release metal type within the first week of owning my S3. I'm just not fond of a silicone band. I would think washing your band in an alcohol solution might solve your problem.

yeah been meaning to look into getting new band.......should be easy to replace right? its a standard size band? it does not have to be made specific, right?

It's been a while and I honestly don't remember the size. As far as replacing goes... it was easy. It does take a standard band with pins. The width is where you need to buy right. I love the quick release bands just for the ease of putting on and removing. Hey... I'm lazy :)
I bought online but I suspect you could wear your S3 into a Wally World and leave with the new band of your choice.

I went looking... 22mm is the size you are after. The band I bought was sold as a S3 replacement but google says it's not a proprietary marriage watch to band. I hope this helps.

Update 4 months later

Needing to post another topic I was reminded of this thread...
I had not paid attention since the rash went away after scrubbing the band clean with a tooth brush and there is a very slight redness in the same area, looked at the band and do not see (with magnifying glass) as much dirt built up against the raised letting as last time.
