Blue Tooth Paired devices disappear

Every now and then, all paired blue tooth devices seem to get cleared out. I have this phone paired with my F150 pickup. The phone seems to stay paired if I use the truck every day, but if I don't use it for 2 or 3 days, it deletes the paired device. Prior to this phone I had a Samsung J7. When I bought the truck in 2017, it got paired and never needed to pair it again. Even if I didn't drive for a full week. I had this new A6 for 3 months and I have had to re-pair it 5 or 6 times.

Does anybody have any ideas on what causes this ?

Anything from your device, android version, your vehicle device, have you tried using Android Auto on both devices and plugged in with a USB cable in the car?

The A6 is at android version 9 while the J7 is at android version 7.1. I do have Android Auto installed on both devices, but have only tried using it on the J7. It worked like a charm, no issues with connecting etc. I have not tried Android Auto as of yet on the A6.

I don't receive any errors on the A6 when the paired device gets removed. Its like, since it hasn't been accessed in X days, must be old data, clear it our !

One other thing, I always power the phone off at night time. Power if back on in the morning, then its on all day. Don't know if that would have anything related to this problem. However lately I have been getting in the habit of checking it every day to see if the device is still in the list.

There is really no need to power the phone off that much. I usually just reboot my phone every now and then.

I also don't think that is the cause of your issue.

The only thing I can think of is try a factory reset.

I think this problem has something to do with either powering down or powering up. Since June 27th, I have not power cycled the phone and the Blue tooth connections are still there. Since July 2nd, I have not driven the truck at all and the settings are still there.

For a conclusion to this issue, I have not power cycled the phone for almost 30 days, and it maintains the Blue Tooth list. Conclusion is DON'T POWER the phone OFF and it will retain the BT list.
