Help G973U Odin flashing failures...

Lurker
Hi, I have a Sprint SM-G973U that is locked to an account on sprint.
I wanted to flash it with an unlocked U1, assuming this will let me use it with my verizon sim.
When i try to flash the G973U1_SAU_1 file, I get this error

SW Rev Check Fail : [abl]Fused 2 > Binary 1

I have tried also tried the recovery tar file and get this failure

Any advice on how to fix this?

Re-flashing the ROM won't allow you to bypass the carrier-locked state of your S10, you need to contact Sprint to have them unlock it:
https://www.sprint.com/en/support/solutions/device/faqs-about-unlocking-your-sprint-device.html
https://www.reviews.org/mobile/unlock-your-sprint-phone/

Also, don't mix-and-match ROMs, stick with the ROM that was made specifically for your device (model and original carrier). The internal components in each model vary and each ROM is created to match that particular hardware configuration.
Since the flashing process using the incorrect ROM did fail, is your phone booting up normally? You might have to flash it using the matching, correct ROM in order to get your phone working normally again.

Is that the only way to get passed the lock?
Unfortunately i purchased it from a private seller, who is obviously not answering me back. The account is locked to them, so sprint will not unlock it for me.

You purchased a blacklisted phone. The previous account tied to it is still unpaid or open for whatever reason and once blacklisted, all the carriers observe that status.
Since it sounds like returning the phone isn't an option, you're going to have to look more into getting Sprint to unlock the phone. If you call them and talk to a typical customer service person, try asking for a manager. This is probably going to be a complicated issue that involves reasoning and judgement. You'll need to provide proof-of-ownership and documentation you purchased it from the previous owner (even though they are not cooperating). As far as Sprint is concerned, the phone could have been stolen or there's some other situation where the previous owner lost possession of it, you're going to have to prove it's now yours.

let this be a lesson learned. when buying a used phone from an unknown person, always call the carrier it is tied to and verify the imei is clean before making the final purchase.

i hope you get it resolved with sprint.....keep us posted. and good luck

I buy used phones often. The problem is i asked sprint to check the imei, through their live chat, and was told it was fine. Later after buying the phone and checking again, they tell me its locked to an account. I have tried calling to have it unlocked but was told it is not possible. Thanks for the feedback
