Why is it that

Some women preach on Communication being vital to the relationship to avoid arguments and such, yet the moment something IS wrong and you ask them they say ' Nothing ' and then go silent ? Or some remark like, ' If you don't know whats wrong then you must not know/love me. '.... Aaaarrgghhhh !!!!!!!

I will say that myself, as a male , do not try to over analyze or dig deep into things. I am basic and logical. I do not read minds nor do I like guessing games. JUST tell me whats wrong and I will do my best to remedy the issue if it is MY fault.

Maybe because, by then, they're really worked up about it, and saying 'nothing' and walking away is a sign of their distress. It may also be a hint to follow her and calmly, reassuringly saying, 'I know it can't be nothing. :) Let's talk about it.'

Because it's something so obvious--from her perspective--that she thinks it should be obvious to you, too.

As am I. Everything I do is logic based: my college education, pre-med, nothing but logic; my career, UNIX/Linux programming and system administration, pure logic; organizing my photographs, thousands and thousands of them, taken with my Nikon cameras, meticulously logically organized; etc. Some people are like that and others aren't, regardless of gender.
I do not read minds nor do I like guessing games. JUST tell me whats wrong and I will do my best to remedy the issue if it is MY fault.
Does she know that? No, really, I mean have you explicitly told her that that's how you work, and that's what you want and need?

Of course... 30 yrs together so far. My son and his ordeal with his wife was the inspiration.

First I heard it was a book. I suppose it could have been different. Maybe men are from here women are from there. The sequel could be "let's go there".

Perhaps not in every relationship but in mine it's all about communication. Keeping the lines of communication open are utmost important. What seems trivial to one partner is sometimes paramount to the other. Without communication and understanding it's near impossible to keep a common ground.
Nothing is too small or too large that it should not be discussed. Sometimes listening is the key and sometimes it's expressing one's view point. One way or another, I've found that assuming is a huge mistake. (Celebrating my 46th anniversary today)

I'm a sports fanatic so I look at marriage as a team event. We plan and act as one. We don't always win life's battles but we take our victories with our losses together knowing it was a joint endeavor.

I was actually being ironic (though the "from" implies the planets rather than the Roman deities, so I think it's a justifiable deliberate misreading).

I was loosely basing my approach on one of my favourite Calvin & Hobbes cartoons (because any excuse to post this):

Nothing exciting. I'm smoking out some beef short ribs. I know that you are vegan so forgive me. I love them and so does the Mrs. I am smoking some baked beans with garden scallions and diced jalapenos as well.
No worries, no judgment. :)

Is the weather cooperating with you? All that rain you've had, hopefully it won't rear its wet head today!

It rained a quarter inch early this morning. It seems to be the nature of the beast lately. :( I was able to mow my Sunday lawns this morning in spite of it being wet. I mowed in the rain yesterday. I had to take a break when it was lightening. I'm not mowing when it's lightening. I'm sick of the rain.. sick I tell ya. It's ridiculously wet around here. I'm still mowing spring grass in mid August. Acckkkk! It's nice out now. A beautiful day to be cooking on the patio. 92° with a gentle breeze. No rain in the forecast... which means nothing. None of the recent rains were forecasted. 57% humidity.... does that bring back Texas memories?

It's just been amazing how much rain you've had this year! We need to build a pipeline from there to here, as we're always in need of rain. Was it @lunatic59 who was going to email me some of his excess rain? But the attachment was too big! :D

Crank it up another 40 points and then we'll be there. :o

It's been 13 years since I moved back home. As you know, I still laugh at my fellow natives when they complain about our 'oppressive' humidity--you know, like TWENTY-EIGHT percent! Do you think I'll ever stop?
