My s9 plus hasn't gotten the nightmode update yet but I see online it was done in June

So it probably depends on your country and carrier when you get it.
Unfortunately variations of the order of months in these things are not unknown.

Anywhere else in the world the unlocked version would be the first to get the updates. Unfortunately Samsung USA do it differently, and the unlocked version is commonly the last to get an update. I've heard that unlike elsewhere, where unlocked versions are not slowed down by carrier approvals, US Samsung unlocked models are signed-off by all of the main carriers and that's why they are slow.

Fingers crossed that they've improved their procedures.

All manufacturers have their drawbacks. Samsung do decent support lifetimes for their phones, but they've never been the fastest with updates (faster than LG, but that's not difficult ;)).

But then I can think of some manufacturers who only ever release some feature updates in certain parts of the world - at least you won't have that problem!

Just hope I get the update soon. I am thinking of getting the s10plus but tmobile is having promotion with my service for note 10 plus but it's so expensive

I have the s9+ with at&t. just got the August 1 update and still no night mode in camera settings.

I don't think it's an unlocked vs carrier thing in this particular case. I think it's a snapdragon vs exynos thing (I don't think anybody with a us snapdragon s9+ has it yet)

Thanks for response. Yeah I have the tmobile version. Do you like the s9 plus

Yes, it's a great phone. Snappy, with some good features added by Samsung.

My only complaint is that my battery life seems to be dropping lately, without any obvious culprit. I'm afraid my heavy use for the past 15 months may be degrading it. I guess I'll have to get used to carrying around a power pack.

updates will vary from carrier to carrier so att's update is different to tmobile.

just to be sure are we talking about the night mode that came with the pie update, correct? i ask this because @electricpete mentioned looking in the camera settings......it not to be found there. night mode is under the phone settings>display>night mode

it was on my note 8 and it is also there on my new note 10+

I find if you have display on drains battery too so I turned that off
