What is the large grey oval in notification bar?

Pull down the notification shade from the notification bar, to reveal the notification list and that should show what app or service it is.

I did and nothing comes up once I pull it down it disappears.

did you guys check in your settings?
settings>notifications>scroll down the list to find the notification.

if nothing, then i would put the phone in safe mode and see if you still get the notification.

I ended up having to do a factory reset. My son keeps downloading games and something went wrong. I tried deleting the game but that didn't work. At the I had to do it because a pop up wouldn't allow me to do anything.

Now you might want to set Parental Controls so you're the only one who can install apps from the Play Store. 'Sorry, son, but these are the new rules!'
