Should I repair my smartphone or buy a new one?

I have a Lenovo Vibe K5 Note 32 GB, 3GB RAM bought on Nov 2015 running on Android Marshmallow. I formatted & reset it 9 months ago as the performance was slow. Now I have 2 GB Space left. Still there is occasional lag in using the smartphone. The phones camera lens cover lost its glue & has detached from phone. The volume up key sometimes won't work & needs to be pressed hard. Also there are black spots on pictures taken with camera. Should I repair this smartphone or buy a new one?
Is it worth waiting for Android 10 smartphones?

depends on the phone as far as wait for android 10. as you are finding out some brands are built better than others. i would look to a new phone. if there was only one main issue i would have said get it fixed. but it seems there are multiple issues here and i think it would be costly to get everything fixed at once. but i could be wrong as far as the price on fixing everything. why not take it in and get an estimate on the cost and go from there?

It depends on what the phone is used for? My K3 Note bought in 2016 still runs smoothly (also Marshmallow). I believe your K5 can run for another year easily, even more.

The volume button issue can be overcome by using an app called Volume Control. You can use the app instead of the physical buttons.
