Low volume

For some strange reason I can only just hear when making or receiving calls.

The speaker works fine and so does the headphones ?
Volume is set to high ?
All apps are up to date and so is the latest software for the phone ?
Nothing is covering the area where the sound comes from ?
Phone never dropped or damaged ?

I rang EE yesterday and the tech's took me through all the various fixes without luck.
As the phone is only 18 months old it's still under warranty (24 months) so its going back to Samsung for a fix.

Just wondered if anything this forum could enlighten me as to the problem.

hard to say....what phone do you have? it could one of two things hardware or software. does the music or video app volume work fine? if so, then it is most likely a hardware issue.
 
Received my phone back from the EE shop re low volume and the the attached letter....
" During our tests we uncovered an issue on your device and have now fixed this.
It is a slightly different fault to the one you initially described, but if two problems occur on a device they are often connected, so you should find your initial issue has also stopped"

Clear as mud. Why not tell us what the problem was ?
