just avoid the apps that are further down your search list. stick to the top 5 apps and you usually are good to go. also pay attention to the permissions that are allowed.
if there are any apps that are well known to be spam, google does a pretty good job of getting rid of them. i have yet to encounter apps like that. i have never even gotten any adware on my devices so far.
I don’t like when advertising applications appear above really good ones, they paid for the ads and sit in the top ... It's cool...(no), but you have to look carefully for normal applications.
