Hello!
I have samsung galaxy s6,i have deleted photos (went to the photo gallery i select a photos and deleted),docs and everything approximately 1 year ago and i gave a phone to my friend .... after 1 year exactly yesterday my friend did a factory reset ...is there any chance to recover photos and docs which i deleted 1 year ago? Thanks ! and also phone is without SD card ,and no clouds.

Approximately 10 months ago,but he did a how he said Hard resett (Volume Up + Home + Power buttons simultaneously)... after that he toggle to the selection (wipe data/factory reset) and he did it.
So there is no chance? Whats the differance between HARD RESET and from the settings menu?

If you delete something, you have a short window to be able to recover it before it's overwritten by new data from regular usage. In this case it has been 10+ months. Even without the factory reset, those photos and docs are long gone.

If you delete a file from the internal storage of a phone and there is no backup then realistically it's gone. It's not like a USB drive where you can just connect it to a computer and run some file recovery software.

If you then use it for another year, so the original data are thoroughly overwritten, then they are really, really gone.

Resetting is just the icing on the cake. And it makes no difference at all how you do the reset, these are just different ways of doing the same thing.

So the truth is that the photos were gone a year ago when you deleted them. If you wanted to keep them you really should have backed them up before deleting, rather than assume that you'd be able to recover them an indefinite time later (even if android had a recycle bin it would be crazy to assume it would never be emptied, but it hasn't: when you delete a file it is deleted).

In my experience they're the same. The hard reset is useful for when you can't get into android due to corrupt software. The factory reset is a convenience you can access within android.

Main difference with a factory reset done within the phone's settings and a hard reset is that one will trip FRP (factory reset protection). FRP prevents thieves from stealing your phone and doing a hard reset so that they can sign in to a different account to use the phone. If a factory reset is done thru the phone, FRP will not be tripped.

.... that's the only difference that I know of

Why do you think they both won't trip it?

It would be incredibly pointless to leave thieves a simple way of avoiding it, after all.
sorry forgot to mention that the lockscreen must not be set to swipe or none in order to not trip frp by doing it in the phone's setting.

Even that seems to be defeating the point. Admittedly you need the lock screen password to get in and disable it, but why on Earth exclude significant anti-theft security from people who are daft enough to leave the phone unlocked?

My respect for Google is shakey anyway, but you've just knocked it further...

well now days with most flagship phones at least you have biometrics needed to unlock phones......which is an upgrade to the lock screen pin or pattern. i do not have to worry about my phone getting stolen and getting used unless they somehow get my finger or face.:nailbitingdroid:
