Help Chameleon provider

Eyecandy

Lurker
Hi, I'm new here; and have a 2 questions. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what chameleon provider and chameleon customization are? Forgive my ignorance; but if someone rooted my old device or had some type of spywear or parental controls on my old device, would they be able to access my new device through just using my phone number?

welcome to AF!!!!!!!!!!!

it sounds like this is what you are referring to:
https://securingtomorrow.mcafee.com/consumer/consumer-threat-notices/chameleon-wifi-virus/

this affects routers and access points according to the article.

i found this for chameleon provider:
https://forums.androidcentral.com/essential-phone/833021-chameleon-instead-sprint.html

it is used by sprint and is not malicious.

the answer to your last question is no. your phone number is your phone number. nothing can be done with it other then call you.

as far as your old device goes, did you sell it? if you did, it should have been factory reset which wipes all of your personal data. even if it was rooted, part of the rooting process of most devices is to wipe data.

and as far as i know there is not any kind of android app that can be used to gain access to another phone.

Are you referring to this?

Apparently it's something that comes with phones from Boost Mobile, and is benign.

Thank you guys. My ex boyfriend somehow has been able to view my messages and hear my calls; he also would access my located, so I wanted to be sure that was no longer a possibility. Thank you for your responses
