Unroot/Flash stock firmware Galaxy S8

Hey guys! I was given someones old Galaxy S8 that has been rooted with SuperSU ROM with Orion. I would like to flash the firmware to anything with stock Android 7 for hobby app development. This phone is carrier unlocked and I cannot find a firmware ROM online to flash to it. I should note I have almost 0 knowledge of how to choose the correct ROM to avoid soft brick.

Android Version- version 7
Baseband version- G950USQU6DSG1
Security Patch- December 1, 2017
Model Number- SM-G950U
Carrier: Unlocked
Root: SuperSU

any help appreciated

He still had the ROM file thankfully. Not sure what to look for in here but the folder is named G950U_V6. All the other parent directories are empty. Just this one has files in it.
Here's a picture of inside the folder.

7.0 stock firmware might take a lil digging around to find, as far as the carrier as long as the device is rooted you can carrier swap the S8.

As far as a custom rom, I would check XDA.

I guess any version as long as it has Google play services below 12 something. What do I look for when finding the correct file to flash for my model?

You can get a Nougat ROM for your model here (Ting being a MVNO that relies primarily on Sprint's cellular network, adding a few years ago T-Mobile but currently switching over to Verizon):
https://updato.com/firmware-archive...SPR,VMU,XAS,TMB&v=Nougat(Android+7.0)&rpp=100
Both sammobile and updato are good sources for stock Samsung ROMs. There are of course plenty of other options to get ROMs but both sites claim to verify the ROMs they provide are valid and unaltered (obtained as is from manufacturers and carriers).
Flashing a stock ROM to a rooted device will of course install a stock (unrooted) OS, along with a stock Recovery. Be sure to follow the directions carefully, don't experiment.

Thanks for your response! Lots of ROMs on that list to choose from. Which one do you think I should try? Or how can I narrow it down some more?

Choose the most recently dated one (2017-08-13), it will allegedly have the most updates. Well at least up until the stated date of the ROM, there 'could' be more OTA updates to come of course once you flash the phone but that's conditional.

Looking at your initial posting, if the current install is just rooted but running a stock Nougat, in the SuperSU app's Settings menu should be a 'Full unroot' option. If it works it should do just that. I've read it works most of the time but that's also dependent a lot on how much other customization to the base OS the user did while rooted. Worth trying and if it doesn't work out you were planning on flashing the phone anyway.
