Hotspot Not working

Just purchased the note 10 on Verizon 6 days ago. The hot spot does not work as of today on Verizon.

I'm not the only one. This has been going on for 2 week's. If I knew this I would have never purchased the phone. Came from a pixel XL 3.

i switched to verizon, my note 10+ works for me with the mobile hotspot feature.....do you have a plan for it?

Yes. I've been to the store twice. Previously on my pixel I use the hotspot twice a week perfectly. They told me at the corporate store that I am not the only one. There are dozens. If it's not fixed by Wednesday I'm going to be forced to return the phone.

Well obviously the hotspot feature works. Ive used it many many times when I’m out in the hills. Ive also 3 note 10+’s. I’m using Tmo a dusting old SIM cards out of the old phones prior.

Do you have the 10+ , the 5G version or just the 10?

Can you link a source online that states its widespread or links to sources that show many people having the issue?

Is your phone unlocked or is it locked ? Did you purchase direct from the carrier or form Samsung? Did you use the same SIM card as your old device?

When you activate the hot spot feature, what does the screen tell you? Do you see the hotspot icon show up?

At the end of the day if other people on Verizon are having the issue, it may be something specific to the Verizon firmware , because on my 3 unlocked devices, its no issue.

Did you by chance do any backup/restore function and loaded an old software backup from your pixel?

I handed in my pixel 3XL I asked them if they needed my old SIMs card and they said there was no need for that. I brought the phone home and used it for 4 days before I tried the hot spot when it did not work I brought it back to the original store that I purchased it at. I left it with them for 4 hours they did a clean wipe on the phone with no luck. One of the sales reps that just purchased the phone earlier that morning tried his phone and it would not work either. The assistant manager stated that's that their were roughly a dozen people in Connecticut that he knew of that the hotspot was not working for only on the Galaxy note 10 phones. I did not buy it unlocked. Before I go to bed tonight I am going to wipe it clean with a factory reset and start over to see if that helps.

i know someone personally in LA who has the verizon version note 10+ 256. i asked her to try the hotspot feature. it worked. again it's not the phone-- it has to be something specific to your area or account. if you factory reset the phone and it still didn't work, well, you can also chalk it up to a faulty device, to which you can simply exchange for a new one...i mean why dilly dally with this...make them exchange it.

The sales rep that was there that purchased the same phone the morning I came in his was not working also. They did not wanna give me another phone. I will be going back on Tuesday afternoon.

you are within the 15 day buyers remorse period. you can return it and walk away. you are free to go to another verizon store and purchase another one or move to a different phone of your liking. you are the customer. they work for YOU. talk with your wallet!

I just encountered this issue with many things in common, Verizon, old unlimited plan, new sim card.. after dealing with many techs I was finally linked with one who had come across this issue before. It is something on Verizon's side. When you call tech support ask to be transferred to Tier 2 so they can re-provision the plan. Make sure you mention the authentication error that appears. Took total of 10 minutes, worked instantly after.
