Looking for a cure

Hi all. I have a Pixel 1 phone. I do a lot of voice to text.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? You dictate a text but have the edit the word that's closest to the send button. Try as you might, occasionally your finger lands on the send button instead of the word. Awkward.....especially if the unedited text is in any way embarrassing!
Anyone have a fix for that?

I never use voice to text, but 2 workarounds occur to me:

1) start your editing by placing the cursor further from the last word then move it (I'm assuming here it works like editing when typing - as I say, I have not used voice to text since testing it in 2010, so don't know what the edit interface looks like).

2) use a different message app where the send button is better separated from the text (if there is any real difference between apps in this respect).

maybe use bigger fonts? makes it easier to select things when they are bigger.
