"Unfortunately, Internet has stopped"

I have an old Samsung Galaxy Prime phone and every time I open the INTERNET APP a pop up always shows and it says "Unfortunately, Internet has stopped". I've seen people say to delete cache and data, but I want to CONFIRM that this works because I don't want to be loosing all of my bookmarks or important passwords that I have saved on the phone without knowing that they will be lost. Does this method work to stop this pop up? Is there a BETTER method out there because I don't really want to loose all my bookmarks and passwords, but if its the only way, I have to do it.

well cache is fine, but data will definitely delete data saved. i never liked the native internet browser. i love chrome myself. never have to worry about my bookmarks cuz they are saved on the cloud. i can get a new device, sign in, and there are my bookmarks.

Yes! I agree, I love Chrome myself and I also have it on my phone but I do prefer the internet app on my PHONE! I just deleted caches and nothing happened, so I'm not exactly sure if I should try deleting data.

Has anyone experienced this before and if you have, have you tried deleting data and caches because I don't want to delete anything yet before I know if it actually works on not

Welcome to Android Forums, Samsung android! :)

I've never heard of this 'Internet app,' but deduced from your comments that it's a web browser.

I see that you've deleted its cache, to no avail. Try this:

- delete its cache
- 'force stop' on it
- reboot the phone
- start the app

Did that help?

If not, and I understand you're concerned about losing your bookmarks, etc., see if the app offers a way to export bookmarks and passwords--in human-readable form, such as a comma-delimited text file. If it offers exporting, it should also offer importing. Verify that it does before making your decision whether to clear its data.

One last thing: is the app available, either in the Play Store or directly from Samsung? You may be able to uninstall the app while leaving its data intact. If so, uninstalling/reinstalling may solve the problem.

I know this sounds kind of ridiculous, but what exactly does rebooting your phone do?

The app looks like this! Sorry I don't know much about phones at all so I'm never sure what to do :D but this also happened to my google play store and I don't know what I did but I cleared out a lot of my phone memory and then it stopped, but don't have much in my phone storage or memory right now so I don't know why this is happening??

Assuming you are using mobile data to connect the internet, I would like to suggest try another internet service provider to check if the service provider is the one who is troubling here..I've faced the same situation and tired other network to avoid the problem..It worked fine
