Google hot button now inactive

Hello i have a verzizon prepaid motorola G7 POWER and i was dumping pics out and a notification came up and said force stop and like a dummy i hit it ,{ It did NOT say Google } well now everything is working BUT my Google hot button is NON functional is there a work around without doing a factory reset ? John

Do you mean the search bar at the top? Friend of mine has a Moto G and it recently started doing a strange thing, if he taps the microphone and tells it call someone it goes to a Yahoo search. If he types something it goes to Google search. He can wake/tell assistant to place a call and it does. I have no idea why it's going to Yahoo.

I think it means the assistant button.

On my device, if I tap and hold the center utility button (the circle) the default action is that it will activate Google Assistant.

I have mine set instead to activate Greenify.
