Hi!

I updated my LineageOS to the latest version on my Pocophone F1 and in some reason my other SIM card stopped working. Therefore did a downgrade back to the previous version but after that could not access my encrypted data - both TWRP and the system (during startup) are saying "Wrong PIN".

The only thing I care is how to get back my data. Please does anyone know how to do it and why has the encryption key changed? Thank you!

Best Regards,

I suspect the encryption key was erased when you downgraded the custom ROM to a previous version. Problem is the data is AES256 encrypted, which was invented by Uncle Sam and was intended to be very secure, and basically no access is possible. Not unless you got a supercomputer and something like 100,000 years to brute force attack it.

before doing anything you need to get into practice in making a nandroid backup in twrp. if you do not know what that is, it is an exact copy of the os with data. if something happens like you are experiencing now, you can just restore the backup and you are good to go. but i'm not sure on how to get encrypted data back......sorry

As Mikedt said, basically, you can't. A data recovery specialist may be able to recover the data, but it won't be cheap.
