I have a problem with my J7. When I am receiving a call the screen stays black, I have to open the phone, do the pattern, then pull down the top notification bar to see who is calling then touch the phone button just to answer, frustrating. I have seen other posts in other forums that people are having problems but I need a step by step in laymen terms on how to fix this. Thanks for any help.

that's weird. was it always like this? after an update maybe?
I don't believe so, I went to a Verizon store and they did not have a clue.
hmmm the only thing i can think of is to do a factory reset.
how do I reset without losing contacts and apps.
If you are using a Gmail account your apps will be backed up automatically.
If you are using Google contacts they will be backed up also
If you are using Google contacts they will be backed up also
