Boot loop...

Hi Folks,

I'm posting this here because my phone isn't listed on your site.
It's a Lava Pixel 2. Android 5.0.

I had some issues with the phone recently and had to backup an identical phone
and restore it to this phone before it would work again.

All was fine for a few days. Then I started getting a pop-up each time I opened the phone.
'Tertiary tracker' would pop this unfriendly note which I had to click on to proceed.

I thought I had gotten rid of it. I'm not sure.

But today, I wanted to put in a second SIM card in my phone.
I did. First I powered down. Then inserted the SIM card.

Then this nasty Boot loop started that just won't stop!
Neither Power-Down, nor Power-Up has any effect.

I've removed one SIM, both SIMS, and the SD card but nothing changes.

The battery cannot be removed.

The phone is rooted with TWRP as a start-up if I can get into it.

I'm at a complete loss on how to proceed.
Any suggestions?

just curious while the phone is bootlooping does your pc recognize the phone? if so you might have a chance to use adb command to command the phone to go to recovery.

Unfortunately not.
I've also tried charging the phone but the charging light doesn't even turn on.

New development...
After a while, the phone 'tires itself out' and the screen turns black.
I've tried pressing the On button and Vol/Down + On but it just starts the boot loop again.

well then i think your phone is sol.....not sure what you can do at this point.

hope you have insurance to get it replaced. or maybe it is time to upgrade the phone.

I still haven't given up hope...

I think I've made some progress.
Despite the phone not being recognized by my computer, I decided to try and use the MTK Flash tool
on my phone.

After some initial hiccups (not working at all) I did manage to flash the original ROM to the phone successfully!

But... there was no life to the phone.
The boot loop was gone and the buttons (On/Up/Down vol.) had no effect on the phone.
Also the charging light still does not come on.

So a successful ROM flash but still clinically dead.

P.S. I should also add, I opened up the phone before the ROM flash and disconnected the non-removable battery but it didn't stop the boot loop at the time, once the battery was re-connected.
