Charging issues when connected to laptop

Hello, I am a Windows 10 user and an Android Archos 50 platinum. I connected my Archos 50 Platinum, to my Toshiba C850 laptop with an USB cable for charging. But when I connected it my phone did not charge.
Can anyone help me please?
Any help will be appreciated, Thank you!

Welcome to Android Forums, Dihan Syed Rahman!

It's been years since I used a cable between a computer and an Android device, and I only use Linux. But, buried somewhere deep in my memory, is something about a setting that has to be changed depending on why the cable's connected.

Go into your phone's System Settings. On my 8.0.0 phone, there's an entry called "Connected devices," and under it, "USB" (grayed out, since I'm not connected to anything by USB). Look for USB, and then adjust its settings.

If that doesn't help, let us know!

You can check USB debugging.
- Go to Settings and find the System section.
- Select Developer options -> enable USB Debugging (USB debugging).
Then make sure that the proper USB driver is installed on your laptop.
