do you really need to set it as default? as long as it has access to your media there is no need to do that any ways. plus i just downloaded the app on my note 10+, and i could not set it as default. but all of my pics showed up, so i'm not sure what you are asking.

I'm with @ocnbrze in wondering why there's a need to set this app as the default gallery. Can you give us some examples of what you're doing when you wish it was the default? Maybe if we understand what you're wanting to do we'll be better able to help.
