I believe in the US, the particular device's IMEI and/or MEID must be registered and activated with the carrier, otherwise it won't get service. So you need to register and activate the tablet details with AT&T I think.
Ya of course they said I needed to add another line or they could change their provisions while we were on the phone for my sim to work in the tablet but if they did that it wouldnt work in my phone.. So of course they recommended me to add a tablet line to my account. They get enough from me already.I believe in the US, the particular device's IMEI and/or MEID must be registered and activated with the carrier, otherwise it won't get service. Yeah, I was in that group for a long time.'ve tried not to comment on non-technical matters, but I've long been amazed at what Americans as a group will put up with from their telcos.
The good news is there are options here. I'm paying ~$200 / year for unlimited data / talk / text, and I'm using the network of one of the big carriers. It's just getting Americans accustomed to using MVNOs (pretty much anyone but VZW, ATT, Sprint, TMo) and not paying for marketing and gimmicks.Despite all of the talk of "markets" and "competition" you pay higher prices than almost anywhere else and the telcos have more control over their customers
