Your Phone

I've never connected any of my phones to my PC via WiFi before. While I was playing.. I thought why not. The Your Phone app was on my PC and connecting was easy enough. I can see that it might be useful at times though I don't foresee the connection being used but rarely. I did have a question about the phone photos that were shared on the PC. The only pic folder from gallery that I can view from my PC is a recent folder. I am either missing the option to change the folder to view of there is no switching option. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks kind Sir. I had that ticked already. I'm seeing one folder so the line of communication is in place. I have my my photos in a number of different folders but I'm only accessing one and see no means to navigate to another. It's really not a big deal so if the answer isn't known, don't spin your wheels trying to solve the problem for me.

I'll mess with it again later. I will be checking the gallery app on my phone for the answer and perhaps try a different app. When / if I find the culprit I will share.

Okay, while I was in the help pages for Your Phone I found the answer to my limited photos. I paste the answer below.

Why can’t I view more than 25 photos?
To minimize network bandwidth and maximize performance, we show your 25 most recent photos and screenshots from your phone.
Also, we only get photos that are in the Camera Roll or Screenshots folders on your Android phone. If you moved or saved your photos to a different folder on your Android phone, they will not appear in the Your Phone app.

With a quick count, 25 is exactly the number of files shared on the PC. It is a limitation of the app. Problem not solved but explained and justified.

I'm not impressed with the app either. My texts worked fine but they work well from the phone. Only loading 25 pics that aren't of your choosing seems a bit weak to me. If I could go to the next 25 and then the next 25 it would be awkward but at least of some use. Oh well. I'll not bother using it again.

Your Phone is a POS that was (in my opinion) hastily cobbled together by programmers who obviously had better things to do. Microsoft people writing an app for Samsung, and Samsung employees writing an app for Microsoft... what could possibly go wrong? Well, Your Phone can go wrong, and it usually does.

My experience with Your Phone is great, until I walk away from the computer with my phone and then come back (I'm prone to doing that). Then it's nothing but "Your Phone can't connect to your phone right now". Endlessly. The only fix I've found is to Repair AND Reset the Windows app, and clear cache AND data on the phone app. Then restart both. After that, Your Phone works great - until I walk away again with my phone!

This dog don't hunt. I have Pulse SMS, it syncs to my PC and it works very well. I use Pushbullet to send photos (or just share them on my phone to OneDrive).
