Why is Google Assistant saying can't send texts yet on my Samsung galaxy tab s5e but on my Alcatel 3x Google assistant sends texts no problem?

is your tablet on wifi? maybe try and re-boot your router.
What do you mean by "texts"? What app would you use to send them from thr tablet?
SMS is a cellular protocol, so if the tablet is WiFi only I'd not expect it to be able to send them.

My Samsung galaxy tab s5e works on mobile date and WiFi and most of the its on mobile date. When I ask Google assistant to send a text message on my Samsung galaxy tab s5e it says sorry can't send texts yet but on my phone when I Google assistant to send a text its says who do I want to send a text to.
SMS is a telephony protocol, so if the SIM in your tablet is data-only I expect that you can't send/receive SMS from it (does the tablet have a telephone number?). My guess is that you should speak to your service provider, because whether it can send/receive SMS will depend on the account settings for that SIM.
