clear storage? where are you seeing this option? are these images downloaded online? or are we talking about pictures? and what do you mean by "other data"?

I would never trust a file manager app that had location access, and full network access as well.

Not to mention that it is from Google.

i actually had no idea that google had its own file explorer....not sure why they need one anyways.

It depends, but sometimes, they will be deleted as well.
