I cannot get my text messages to beep. What am I missing?

beep? not sure if there is a notification sound that just beeps. i use Zedge Wallpapers & RIngtones for all of my wallpapers, ringtones and notifications sounds.

Have you disabled that from the settings, or maybe you are on silent mode.
