Galaxy S7 jack-plug size?

Hello: I need to buy a loudspeaker for my wife's Galaxy s7 phone, but choosing the right one is an ordeal. My main concern is that the jack-plug must be of the correct size, but I don't have any way of being sure of this. Can someone tell me, with certainty, which size it is, so that I can buy with confidence (with regard to it fitting, anyway)?

With thanks in hopeful anticipation,
S.

Galaxy S7 uses a standard 3.5mm stereo headphone jack. Same as what you find on PC sound-cards, walkmans, MP3 players, etc.

Thanks for that, mikedt. Much appreciated!

Being a simple soul, ocnbrze, I prefer wires, which I am more familiar with. It's as simple as that.

i don't know......wires can complicate things. plus wireless bluetooth speakers are very easy to setup. and most speakers have a pretty good range so that you can move them around if you need to.

I hadn't thought of that. I shall think about it. Thanks!

Walkman? That ringed a bell :)

I used to have a Yellow Walkman Sports but new generations will not know of them: a real man portable music device that was heavy, bulky and ugly :P
And I have a Discman too :p

Man, I'm old...

I wouldn't worry too much about the plug size for an external speaker, unless you pick some oddball, non-branded model with its own unique plug, they're all pretty standardized. Even if there's a mismatch, you can just pick up an adapter plug/cable to step-down or step-up the plug size.

But @ocnbrze and @Dannydet made good suggestions as far as the lure of Bluetooth. Does your wife need an actual external speaker or will earbuds be more convenient and useful? I still rely a lot on wired earphones and headphones, and the occasional use of some external, powered speakers (good for when a lot of amplification is needed) but after picking up some Bluetooth earbuds the convenience and portability is hard to ignore.

For headphones you can still get better quality for a given price using wires, but of course that only matters if the entire chain (the music file itself and the phone's output) are good enough that you can tell the difference - and of course if you are a fussy enough listener to care ;).

I use wired headphones, but I use bluetooth to connect my phone to my conference speaker or the kitchen radio (which can act as a bluetooth speaker). For that sort of thing it's convenient not to be tethered to the speaker.

When buying a speakerphone for a mobile device, it is best to contact specialized stores. Firstly, it will save the client from the possibility of acquiring fakes. Secondly, purchasing a speaker from the hands does not guarantee - in the event of a failure, it will not be possible to return the money. I recommend classic speakers with a headphone jack. Be sure to buy an amazon smart plug in kit. Thus, you, firstly, can check the performance of your speakers. Free your hands and just say the word to control multiple home devices with Alexa or Google Assistant. Secondly, the smart plug will make your home smart and convenient.
