How do you stop a Galaxy S22+ from updating from 12 to 13?

A factory reset will only delete user data and settings, restoring the phone to out-of-the-box condition. It will not affect the/system partition in which the operating system is located.

If you update the operating system, a factory reset won't help because the previous operating system has been overwritten. The only way to change it is to gain administrative access to the system files (aka root your phone) and flash a previous system to it. That is unadvisable for several reasons... an authorized service center may be able to do it.

Why you wouldn't want Android 13 is a mystery because I don't know of any features it removes... but you have your reasons and I respect that.

Just curious. Why don't you want to update to Android 13? Thanks

It was an uninformed decision of panic.

i thought it would delay rooting (long story, which i will not go into here)
Thanks for all the replys

This (Post) to me is now irrelevant. Hope others will get some use from it.

well i always say that you should never update if you plan on rooting a phone. most of the security patches that comes with the update can close loopholes that are used in rooting.
