I want to erase everything on my SD card and use it when I get a new phone at the end of May.

How do I completely erase everything from it as if it was brand new?

The easiest way is to reformat the sd card. Go under the phone settings and look for a phone and SD storage menu. There should be an option to format the card. If not, simply remove the card from the phone, place it in an adapter and format it from your computer.

Go to your phone settings and go to sd card and phone storage the go to format sd card nd there you go the sd card will be completely erased

Hello GAMESHARQ,

You can completely erase your SD card data by performing "Format" operation. But data can still be recovered from the SD card using many data recovery software available on the internet. If you are looking to completely wipe SD card data, then you can use wipe disk software, which wipes your SD card's data completely, making recovery impossible. If you ever need this software then follow the below links

No, format will not far enough to wipe your sd data, it still remain on your SD and easily be recovered by some data recovery tool. so, i suggest you try wipe your sd with some professional data wiper software.

Hello,

In these days, many android smart mobile phones allow people to easily wipe everything stored on a phone SD card with security wipe. Merely find the Security wipe functions in Setting of your phone and also remember to select the SD memory card only before starting the security wipe.

Of course, also remember to save important data backups well and then, format this SD card to wipe everything inside.

easily there could be embedded data/files. until you know, you never know if youve been remoted/stalked/victim of ill intent or fraudulated. theres more ways to hide stuff than putting a period at the file name.
as for deleting,.. you have to delete maybe 6 times for a shadow copy to not be recoverable.
