Health and walking apps..

Samsung has the best built in app in most of their phones. The Samsung health app works well on its own, but even better if you have a Samsung watch as well. It can track your walks, run, or hikes by GPS, health signs like heart rate, and oxygen intake, and speed.

I don't use it as much right now as I'm dealing with Achilles tendinitis in my left foot.

Sorry about the foot my friend. I agree that the Samsung health app is a good tool. It even encourages / nags you to reach your goals. :) I like the fact that it will track my bike rides and show me the route taken, average speed, and time of my rides.

LOL at the nagging part, I will check into the Samsung Health app as well. With the app, I only need to sign in once with my google account and then turn it off, has an offline recorder on how many steps I do though, usually when I am at my side occupation, somewere around 7,000 to 8,000 steps. I can never seem to get my ten thousand in, but it is alright.

:coughvirusvirusviruscough: I did mentioned above on my Phonax counting the steps and they do reset over time without the data being stored.

Actually, Samsung Health works on any phone, not just Samsung. You can pair a Samsung watch with a non-Samsung phone as well (but you lose the SMS and E-mail apps on the watch).

I had it installed on a Moto G Stylus, and a TCL A3X. You won't get the advanced sleep coaching even if you use a Galaxy Watch 4 with a non-Samsung phone, or the snore detection though.

I stopped using Samsung Health when they started mandatory forced updates. It looks like it gives you a choice, and if you say 'later' it closes the app out. I liked the version before it, since it had cute little animations such as a lady that walked across the pedometer progress bar and held a little medal when you completed it, and a more 'LCD digit' style font for weight tracking, but those got replaced with blander UI elements with no life in them. They also downgraded the UI of Together, so I laid it to rest. I was already miffed at the removal of the neat graphic splash screen showing people running with their dog, replaced with a standard blank white screen just saying 'Samsung Health' and its icon instead. I was no longer confident the app was my own or that I could expect it to remain familiar the next time I opened it.

Now any pedometer use is on my Nintendo 3DS, which replaces my smartphone when I'm out. All my music is on that as well. Much more charming UI.

So long as I'm beautiful in the eyes of animals, I'll be ok. Never been a people person anyway.
