Wow! I haven’t heard that for like forty-odd years, really took me back! I remember enjoying that song quite a lot back in the day.

Thankcyou for the excellent article in Wikipedia! I didn't know anything about the singer or the background of the song! Now it means more to me to know it was about the passing of a pet who are just like family. We lost a dog a few years ago… still not over it.

i am a huge Jim Rome fan....especially back in the day. i saw that live and just fell of my chair laughing hysterically. i was also a huge LA Rams fan, but was inrisingly annoyed by jim everett. he was really good, until his o-line went to crap and did not protect him very well. it was then that his career took a nose dive. and then the rams moved to st. louis and i switched my allegiance to the San Diego Chargers.
