set notification audio?

Hello, I have a Pixel 6 with Android 14. I'm not sure how to determine what texting app I'm using. but I assume it's the default one.

I want to use "adb put ..." to upload some audio files for texting notifications. What type of files (.mp3, .mp4) do these need to be, where should I place them, and how do I assign them as the default audio notifications, please?

mp3 should be fine. You can just transfer the files normally without adb. On my pixel, custom ringtone is just on my internal storage in a folder called Ringtones. To set as default notification just go into Settings > Sound and the custom ringtones should appear with the stock ringtones
