Failure with 'Add to Home screen'

I am trying 'Add to Home screen' the URL
https:// www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football

But it always ends up with
https:// www.bbc.co.uk


Problem occurs on
Android version 14 (Honor 90 Lite)
Android version 12 (Honor Pad 8)

Well I could bookmark it but I want it on the Home Screen for immediate one click access.

Which browser are you using?
I wouldn't worry as long as it takes you to the correct website...

The problem occurs with both Firefox and Chrome.

However I have now found a workaround.

I can use the app BBC Sport and set the topic 'football'

hmmm weird well on my z fold 6 using chrome i can set the bbc site no problem with football as the main page on my home screen.
