Canta can't

I found out about a potentially great app called Canta. It's a little similar to having a rooted device but without all the hassle. It works with something called Shizuku, which I have. Recently I tried to "uninstall" some apps. Everything seemed to be working but when I tapped the trash can icon it said "uninstall canceled". I certainly didn't do that. What went wrong?

No idea what those apps are, but they sound Japanese. But if something is acting funky or unexpected, maybe try restarting your phone or tablet?

Suggest you provide more details on exactly what you're trying to do there, and details of these "Canta" and "Shuzuku", such as URLs.

why not just long press on the app in your app drawer and select uninstall?

Ah, I wish it were that easy. Mainly I'm trying to get rid of or at least tame the majors. I mean system apps such as that horrible goo, forced updates, etc. If I could root I would surely take care of that. I did a search about Android 14 and found many, many people wishing it gone. Apparently Android flash tool would be quite useful but it seems to be for the experienced...

So is there any information about these apps? Because the obvious reason why you might get a message like that when you try to uninstall a system app is because it can't actually uninstall it, i.e. this is an error message (not well phrased if so, but that could be a translation problem or the developer might not like admitting to failure).

That might be. I think, though, that the real reason was that some silly idiot didn't make sure that Shizuku was actually running before attempting to use Canta. Whether it really cans those nasty, needless apps shoved at us mainly by carriers or just removes them from active duty is another question...
