Battery draining quicker than usual on Samsung A02

For about 10 days so far I have been trying to figure out why the phone has suddenly started to drain the battery faster than below.

the final thing I did is that I rooted and reset the phone.

The battery used to last for 2-3 weeks and now it lasts for less than a week even after reset or power save on. I did not add any apps after the reset to see and yet still has the issue.

I hope that it is not the battery getting weaker.

If the average battery can survive up to 500 cycles then I am still at less than 300.

I noticed that the phone is always warm while idle and the CPU never drops below 64%. The CPU clock speed is showing in CPU-Z 962-1500. I used this app to find out what is going on.

After that I flashed the stock ROM and still has the same issue.

I want a way to change the CPU min frequency. I will try some kernel apps for that.

I need tips and ideas on how to resolve this or know more about it.

It is A02 and yes I am aware that there is custom android 12 for A02s.

I placed a request on the Samsung forum for a request to improve change the Kernel to allow the clock speed of the phone to start at less than 64%.

The average cycle life of a battery is suppose to be 500 times and all my other devices still have the same battery as the day they got purchased about 10 years ago or less.

Samsung is suppose to be a quality device, even if only a budget phone.

Since I only charge the phone 2-3 time per month then I still did not cycle the battery more than 150 times since I got it so no need for it to degrade yet.

My suspicion is in the min CPU frequency which never drops to less than 64% at all 4 cores. So I need to be able to edit the kernel to change that to a much lower setting.

The battery started to drain even faster. it would not even last for a day.

After one of those drains it did not come back at all.

Opened it up and kept messing with it until it worked. then I replaced the battery but then it died.

Tech people at an unofficial shop told me that the CPU has gone loose and is normal for old devices. They tried to do Reboling on the CPU but it also failed.

I am trying to return the battery and will purchase another phone.

Is it true that there are no more Android phones that are 4-5.5 inch in size anymore?

Please recommend models of budget phones in that size. Only Android phones...

I posted this same question in the Samsung Forum and they informed me that it is normal for this to happen after an update and that the Battery will readjusts to the settings once again in a few days.

Since I could not find a smaller size phone I did not get one yet but in the mean time the phone came back to life and will be using it for a few more months. It took about a 10 day break....

Anyway, One of the cameras did not work after reassembly.

The new battery performance is also not too good but I will post an update after a week to see if it will adjust.

Huh people are allowed ten day breaks?
Man I resurrected all three of my motos within 4 hours tops.

Live and learn 😊

The 1st time it happened when the old battery drained it lasted for about 3 days and the near by repair shop diagnosed the issue as a loose CPU that requires something called Repolling the CPU.

However I ignored them and replaced the battery because the old one started draining even faster. I tried all the tips to bring it back on but nothing worked, and as mentioned. several days later of poking it and disconnecting it and connecting it came back on.

It is good that I don't need a phone for everyday use. I also got the camera replaced with a used one.

Please recommend smaller size screen phone for my next purchase that is also a budget phone if you know any.

Yeah when I really put my heart into something, it takes my focus into actioning it.
Good to hear from you.

Wait who does that not having a cell for every day use?

So how much smaller of a screen do you want though?

Well I want a smaller phone because of pocket comfort. The only current option is a folding phone and that is too big. I dont go out often so I spend most of the time on PC. That is why I dont need phone so urgently.

But with that, you can have a pocket computer on your pocket, and browse through so much.
And have your files via cell to look at and email everyone,
ah it makes your day so simple, I knew what it felt like when I got my very first moto razor like 14 years ago.

Your english is not too clear but I will try to respond to your question.

Each phone does soft brick during the process of rooting but there are tools to restore the original ROM. But from all of them the easiest to root was the Samsung.

Please attempt to share relative useful information. So far nothing you said has any use at all. It seems to only be done to collect points.

Battery update. After a while of trying to calibrate the new battery it is still discharging too quickly. But it is also skipping certain percentages while charging.

Will boot into phone recovery and use a USB light connected to the OTG cable to continue the discharge after it reaches 0%.

oh on the go.

I am fluent in two languages, maybe my brain decided not to type it all up.

I did do a root to one of my cells like ages ago, still it was not worth the tools with it, and there is a lot of strings and threads that have advise not to it.

And I was talking with a few other people at that time as well.

"Please attempt to share relative useful information.. So far nothing you said has any use at all." sounds like my ex wife.

"Battery update.."

Milo seems like a friendly fellow which is great.

However I am here purely for Technical information and feedback.

Battery still drains in just a couple of days.

It is ok. I decided to save up to buy a new phone. The current phone hopefully will last until then.

Consider the subject / Thread closed.

Milo doesn't know dick about phones. He, much like my wife, just fakes it.
