What's the weather like where you are?

It rained over night and is still lightly raining. Just over an inch had fallen when I got up this morning but an additional .05 has fallen since. With the rain, the temperature has dropped. Instead of the day starting out in the low eighties, it's now 68°.

It's basically three hours later now and the rain is taking a brief break. The radar looks like more rain is likely. It's been a slow steady rain that will be good for the yards and plants. My station is now showing just under an inch and a half of rain since midnight. It has also warmed up some. It's now 69° :)

I'm under an excessive heat wave warning for this week. It looks as if I'll be enjoying some dry but hot weather. High nineties to low one hundreds with no rain is the forecast. The humidity is to continue to be high and it is to remain windy. Sounds wonderful... not!

Calling for 99°, tomorrow, with a 40% chance of rain.

Out of thin air and not in our forecast came an intense storm last night. Locally we had no wind damage but my station logged 1.27" of rain. Just enough rain to keep the humidity ridiculously high. Currently is is 81.7° with a Southerly wind and 75% humidity.

A weather front has moved across my area and has lowered the temperature. It's a welcome change but the front also brought more rain. Only .09" has fallen so far but they have issued a flood watch and severe storm risk for today until tomorrow morning. I don't see the threat on the present radar but I suspect the cold air meeting the warm will cause more rain clouds to form. Present conditions are 73° and 94% humidity and zero wind.

Just like they forecasted... It came a downpour about the time I was going to go riding. It dropped a bit over an inch to add to the tenth of an inch that fell early this morning. It looks like there is a fair chance of more later.

The fair chance or additional rain amounted to .96". Between yesterday and today, 2.10" total rainfall. The area lakes and farm ponds are finally back to full capacity. It has been one of the wettest Julys that I can remember. My station shows Just under six inches this month and just over 31 inches for the year.

In South Carolina it's never a dry heat, even 100 miles from the coast.
Still that's just what we call summertime around here.
I get it... That's normal August temps for Kansas. It's usually very dry that time of year so it doesn't seem quite so miserable.

It rained again tonight. Total for the two days or what my station considers an event is 2.46 inches. 3.73" for the week total and 6.29" for the month of July which is normally a dry month.
Thirty four inches is Wichita's average rain fall. So far my yearly total is 31.45".
