Heart Trauma Recovery

I guess it is my turn again.

Been feeling bad, doc referred me to cardio, cardio said, "oh no, we are skipping the stress test you are past that"

Got echocardiogram @ 10:30 this morning and am sure it will lead to a left heart cath.

Move over obriar and give me some room on the table ....

I am super sorry to hear that! The stress test is life. It wears on the body. Hang in there my friend. You've got this! Keep us informed... please. You are family.

I do not have the ECHO results yet, scheduled the left heart cath for next Wednesday !

Most of us know what happens in that room ....

From the last time in one of them rooms, this is a plastic clamp gizmo that they put on the spot where they ran the very small cath wires into my wrist, across my chest, and into my heart. Oh and you must be awake and coherent during the procedure.

As they were prepping me they explained what they were doing. Next, some guy is shaving half my junk. I said hey... you said the wrist. He said just in case we need a second entry. It was life saving for me so I'm not bitching. Good luck my friend.

LOL, I forgot about the shaving part.

As sore as my wrist was afterwards I can not imagine going the other route ...
I don't remember my wrist being terribly sore. They wouldn't let me move for a day and then would not let me lay on my side or stomach which is how I normally sleep. They seemed to be very concerned about the wrist entry and kept telling me not to move my wrist in fear that it would blow out. It sounded serious but I think they were trying to keep me still. I have my fingers crossed for your procedure. Nothing but positive vibes your way!

I saw my kidney Dr today. He was blown away by my numbers. He said your numbers are great and incredible for a man your age taking your meds. I'd like like to see you again but in a year unless you don't want to see me again. I have an appointment Nov 16 2026 lol
Excellent news!

Keep up the good work!

Wore an external heart monitor which made them concerned so I got a "loop recorder" implanted in my chest, about a month ago.

They think it is A_Fib but not sure.

Put me on eliquis twice a day and that is bad medicine. This is as close as one can get to Warfarin. (what is in rat poison)

Had a "Watchman" procedure done 3 days ago, had to stay overnight for observation, "they" say it went well.

This time they went in through my groin and I have a huge blue/black bruise on half my inner thigh and across my stomach.

It does not hurt as much today, but my movement is still limited.

Twixt this and the new meds we should be able to control the extra heartbeats I am having.

I am giving it until Monday to settle down, I just do not feel right. If Monday comes and I do not feel like I have improved i may need a ER visit. Yesterday, I scratched a sore that was the size of a black eyed pea, and it bled for almost an hour. I was close to going then !

They took me off of Eliquis and started Plavix. Eliquis prevents the blood from clotting, (Coagulant), Plavix prevents the platelets (blood cells involved in clotting) from sticking together and forming harmful clots in the arteries.

Supposed to rain today, gonna be a good day to sit at the keyboard or on the couch watching tv ....

Damn... I hate every minute of that for you! I was on Plavix for nearly two years. I've been off of it since late September and my arms are still discolored between my wrists to my elbows. I had to tear off a piece of tissue paper and put on all of my scratches and cuts for the blood to coagulate. After I would shower, the bleeding would have to be stopped again. Between old man thin skin and slow healing, it was a huge pain. Please do seek assistance if you continue to not feel right.
