Heart Trauma Recovery

I was in ER this morning for five hours receiving two bags of electrolytes. They contributed my dangerously low BP to my four days of severe diarrhea. My BP did rise as I was getting the IVs. I came home and mowed there lawns. My BP had fallen by the time I got home from the ER and I just checked it and it is once again in the dirt. I'm scheduled to see my GP tomorrow afternoon. I see my cardiologist the 13th... perhaps sooner. :(

Please try and take food care of yourself. That’s a whole lot of extra strain on most all of your organs.
Hydration is so important and it sounds like you might benefit from an electrolyte supplement as well. Please ask your GP when you see him/her.
We care about you and want to see you healthy for lots more years to come.
You’re in my prayers as well, Olbriar.

Update: I saw my family doc today and had another blood test as well as a urine test. I personally think the extreme diarrhea I've had now for almost a week is what is giving out the alarming numbers but we shall see. I'm scheduled to see a kidney specialist tomorrow to determine if I'm truly in stage three kidney failure. In any event, my cardiologist wants me to drop a couple of his prescribed meds through the weekend while tracking my BP. I'm all in favor of dropping my dependency so I'm hoping to see a complete stop of the diarrhea and my BP to climb back into the normal low range where he wants it.

Dehydration is an ugly thing. I am not alarmed about my kidney numbers. I see no reason not to follow though with an appointment with a specialist. I could be way wrong here but I don't buy into my kidneys suddenly failing to such an extreme at the end of a week's illness that also dropped my BP below a dangerous level. I will share this crazy journey when I know more, hopefully this afternoon. One day off of the two meds and my BP is again normal and I've only had one bowel movement.

I had an interesting visit with my kidney specialist. My kidneys at the time of my heart attack were at 95% and today 25%. It is quite likely the recent bout with diarrhea and or the meds. He took me off four of the meds. He thinks my kidneys will recover if the abuse is stopped and given time. I hate all drugs and their side effects. Now I will have a battle between my cardiologist and kidney man. I vote for the kidney doc and less meds.

So far, my BP has increased without the el-distructo drugs. They have not been in the range the kidney specialist advocated but they are no longer in the "your cuff isn't working... your BP can't be that low and still be conscience" range. My diarrhea has finally stopped and I am getting to sleep at night. I have not felt bad during this whatever spell so there is that. My BP was 99/56 this morning. The kidney dude wants it between 135/115 and 115/65. It's been below that range since my heart attack. This past week it was 71/42 or so. I'm excited to see the improvement.

I'm not certain which or if it's a combination of the removed drugs from my regiment that's responsible for having my BP so low. My BP today, without those drugs, is within the range the kidney specialists desired. 123/70. :)
Now the trick will be to keep it there which he considers ideal.
That's the issue with Meds, they are a catch 22, they are suppose to help and control one issue, while causing another.

My BP remains in the normal range this morning. 119/69! I'm to touch base with my cardiologists' assistant today to discuss the results of them temporarily halting two of my meds. They do not know about my kidney specialists insisting dropping those and two other drugs until he sees me the 23rd. I don't care how they react. I'm feeling better than I have in months.

Meds are scary stuff. I went nearly 50 years without taking any meds and got by just fine. Now that I'm on them it seems I'm helping this while destroying that. I'm unhappy but what are you to do if you don't trust the medical industry? I'm a bit old to get a medical degree so I can self diagnose my problems. :)

Naturally, I have zero idea just how my health is improving... if it is. However, if how I feel is an indicator, I'm vastly improved since the med changes and the regiment of electrolytes. The diarrhea stopped, my BP is up, I have energy and appetite. BP is staying in the high teens or low twenties over high sixties and low seventies. I don't think I need those four dropped meds at all!!! I see my cardiologist the beginning of next week and the kidney doc the 23.
