Air Fryer Cooking

So I use my Air fyer maybe once a month, to be honest it's been probably two months or more since I used it. However a few days ago I was near a grocery store and found a good deal on ribs. I can turn these ribs into 3-4 meals

I will admit that our air fryer sees little use. It's mostly a fancy toaster. It is no fault of the appliance, we just haven't utilized it like I thought we might. The oven and the smoker are the go to means we use to cook most always out of habit and working knowledge.

Every once in awhile I break out the Air Fryer for Two cookbook and pick out something for us. Some dinners turn out better than others; some will never be made again; and some a absolute winners. While our 9-in-1 Foodi does everything, we should definitely use it more often than we do.

My new (well recently new) oven does air frying as well. So I find myself doing combination cooks. Cooking something on bake of convection, then flipping to air fry to crisp up a breading or brown a crust. I no longer have a countertop air fryer.

I would likely use the appliance more if using it didn't make such a mess. It's not that difficult to clean but if I use the grill or Blackstone my mess and cooking odors are outside.

I'm actually going to use the air fryer for something beyond toasting some bread tonight. The nice unit that we have saw heavy use at first and then it fell out of the cooker rotation. I read through this thread and see some cooks that I need to revisit. Fried chicken and fish sounds super good. Tonight I'm frying some fresh cut fries to go with some stove top fried cheeseburgers.

The fries were pretty good. I didn't see any mention of air frying sweet potato fries in this thread. Sweet potato fries are a favorite of the wife who shies away from eating any Idaho potatoes. I like them as well so we should give them a try in the air fryer. The frozen sweet potato fries are just fair. Fresh should do well. Soak them in ice water like I was frying them in a skillet, dry them, and spritz with oil and seasoning.
