Gunky carpet machine

Last week I was running it and when I got done I noticed there was a lot of wet crap on the underside of it. I cleaned up a lot but some is still left. Can I unscrew things and get in there for real?

Brother, I have been busy as "AF": little fires everywhere. Somehow I end up being the go to/fall guy for just about everything. Whatever it is I'll probably catch the blame. I'm Buttons to the world's Mindy. Seriously, though, can I just unscrew the thing with a regular screwdriver, no power tools needed, rinse out the crap, and somehow magically reassemble it to the point that it actually works?

Not knowing what machine you have and can't tell diddly from your photos, I would assume that the machine was designed to be sufficiently cleaned without taking a screwdriver to it. Normal maintenance of most cleaners and vacuums are designed to be fairly user friendly. Resorting to take it apart suggest it has a problem deeper than cleaning "gunk". If the machine is designed to spray a cleaner onto the carpet and then vacuum it up, I would suggest filling the tank and sitting it in your shower or tub and let it cycle a tank of clean water. Keep in mind that my advice is free because that might be all it's worth. :)
