MLB 2026

A huge top of the 2nd saw the Yanks put up five runs. Score is five zip with the Giants batting in the bottom of the 3rd. It would be nice to actually watch this game... grrrrrr

Yankees shut out the Giants 7-0

The Royals are a hard watch again this year. Two games at the Braves earned them two losses. They managed to have a two run lead going into the bottom of the 9th. In typical bad baseball style, they allowed two runs and then loaded the bases and allowed a slammer. I will follow the team. I have for so many decades. I will have to find a team to root for beyond the Royals. They have no plans to compete this year or I'm not seeing it. It's early but they define stink so far.

Congrats @Steven58 for winning game one against the Royals. Beating the Royals is not really anything to brag about. I feel sorry for the embarrassed teams that lose a game to the Royals. If the White Sox can win and the Rockies continue to lose tonight. They will join the Mets and the Royals for the worst records in the Majors. If the Sox lose, they will grab the dead last title from the other three teams.

I'm beginning to think that the baseball package wasn't a gift from my provider in hopes I'd continue my service. It was a ploy to force me to make a change and give up baseball viewing.

I didn't bother to watch the Yanks beating the Royals today. I hadn't a clue what the score might be but I knew the outcome without watching.

My Royals are now tied with the Mets for last place in all of major league baseball. With a 7-15 W-L record they have a whopping .318 winning percentage. They were very good at loosing last year but they have it down to an art form this year. They start a six game home stretch today. I hope they break and not add to their seven game losing streak. With their questionable pitching and their inability to put hits together, I'm not optimistic. So far, the Royals don't have all of the losing stats, but they are in the bottom of most all of them. The tell tale stats of being a very bad baseball team don't lie.

The best part about having the MLB package is getting to watch up to eight games at a time. I can switch which game I get the audio stream from. It doesn't take much effort to get engrossed in the other games while the Royals are all but on ignore. :)

Aren't they moving or is the football team?

So far, it's just the Chiefs that are relocating. Both Arrowhead and Kauffman are old facilities. They tried to get city and state funds to relocate both stadiums in Missouri but were turned down. Kansas entered the equation with an offer too sweet to turn down. It was the Chiefs and not both franchises that were offered new digs. It is far enough from KC proper to have the real estate but close enough to still wear the KC name. I'm betting there is something in the works for the Royals as well.

An early solo home run had the Royals up one zip going into the 9th. They gave up a run in the top of the inning to push the game into extra innings. They gave up a grand slam in the top of the 12th and only had a three run answer in the bottom to lose. The Royals had the bases loaded in three different innings and could not score a run. They ultimately stranded 15 runners in the game. Worst baseball I believe I've seen in my 73 years. They now are in sole possession of last place in the majors and have lost eight straight. They are so bad that it's humorous.

The Royals actually won tonight. They enjoyed a walk off passed ball to score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th :) The Orioles were pitching around Perez with a 2-2 count when a decisive ball bounced off of the catcher towards the mound. Garcia on third was able to beat the catcher to the plate.

I got home from riding in time to see the last couple of innings of the Royals / Angels. The Royals were up 5-3. The Angels had the bases loaded with two outs and the Royals were bringing in another pitcher. I've seen the Royals give away countless games under similar circumstances and prepared myself for another "ground hog day" moment. Like a good ball team, the reliever came in and issued a strike out ending the inning. They Royals put up an insurance run in the bottom of the inning and hung on to win. I was shocked.
